Havre de Grace Housing Authority
The Havre de Grace Housing Authority helps low to moderate income families provides housing they can afford. Volunteer opportunities include senior services, youth services, administrative help, and event coordinating.
Maryland Center for the Arts aims to provide experience and education in all forms of art. Volunteer opportunities include helping with various events throughout the year
The YMCA aims to develop the potential of every individual through programs that promote a healthier mind, body, and spirit. The YMCA offers many opportunities to volunteer such as helping with events, assisting a sports team, or other opportunities based on your specific skills.
SARC is an organization that provides a lifeline for victims of abuse which provides a safe haven, resources, hope, and advocacy. Volunteering opportunities include answering the helpline, providing support for victims, and by helping the SARC staff at events and in the office.
The Harford Center provides services and support for adults with disabilities who are living in Harford County. You can volunteer with the adults The Harford Center helps if you are 18 years of age and have no criminal record.
Welcome One Emergency Shelter provides a safe and clean place for those without housing to sleep, as well as meals, and additional services to help its residents find permanent housing. Volunteer opportunities include preparing lunch or dinner for the residents, helping with administrative work, and organizing events.
The Alzheimer's Association aims to end Alzheimers and other forms of dementia through accelerating research, driving risk reduction, aiming for early detection, providing support, and maximizing care. There are both virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities at this time.
Anna's House is a transitional living space that helps to combat homelessness in Harford County that helps individuals and families. Anna's House has a plethora of volunteer opportunities including meal preparation, helping at the children's center, food collection, and building projects.
Arrow Child & Family Ministries
Arrow Child & Family Ministries supports children entering the foster system by recruiting, training, licensing, and supporting foster families while providing therapeutic services from a Christian worldview. Volunteer opportunities include running school supply drives, helping with Christmas parties, and more.
Extreme Family Outreach is a faith based organization that conducts Community Impact Programs in under served areas. Currently Extreme Family Outreach is looking for help with their Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Drive, but they have other volunteer opportunities throughout the year as well.
Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna
Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna strives to create affordable and decent housing for everyone in the community. Volunteer opportunities include helping with the construction of houses, there are opportunities for youth as well, even though some safety restrictions may apply.
Harford Community Action Agency
The Harford Community Action Agency is dedicated to providing assistance to help all Harford County individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardships in meeting their housing, food, energy/heating, and/or budget and family counseling needs. Volunteer opportunities include helping with the food pantry, helping to move donations, stocking shelves, distributing food, and answering the phone.
Harford County Education Foundation
Harford County Education Foundation invests in the education of youth in Harford County Public Schools by providing educational resources to complement the learning and growth of each student regardless of their economic circumstances. Volunteer opportunities include helping with school supply drives, gently used book drives, stocking and inventorying the Tools for Schools Resource Center, transporting school supply and product donations to schools, and stuffing envelopes for mailings.
Harford Family House assists families with children, and unaccompanied young adults achieve independence through housing, support, and resources dedicated to improving the financial stability and mental wellbeing of its clients experiencing homelessness. Volunteer opportunities include helping pickup donations, sorting donations, and donating needed items
The Harford Land Trust's mission is to work with landowners to conserve land and protect its natural resources, scenic beauty, rural character, and promote a healthy quality of life in Harford County. Volunteer opportunities include land monitoring and stewardship, special events, community outreach, photography, or office work.
The Humane Society of Harford County
The Humane Society of Harford County promotes the humane treatment of homeless, stray and abandoned animals by providing shelter, care, adoptions and community education. Volunteer opportunities includes helping with adoption events, caring for the animals, doing administrative work, maintaining the grounds, and helping to educate the public about animal adoption.
The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region
The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region has helped people with differing abilities build better lives one person at a time. Volunteer opportunities include helping with holiday events and leading small group outings.
United Way of Central Maryland Harford County
United Way of Central MD Harford County promotes equity, create opportunity, and improve lives and communities. Volunteer opportunities are both in-person and virtual including reading to children, running a clothing drive, and making flashcards for young students.
Boys & Girls Club of Harford County
The Boys & Girls Club of Harford County unlocks the potential for children to become thriving members of their community by providing them with the opportunity to achieve more. Volunteer opportunities are based on the individual's interest and skills.
Luna's House is an organization dedicated to bettering the lives of animals and their people and thrives on working with individuals and with other organizations in the local and regional community to promote widespread humane education and respect for animals. Volunteer opportunities include working with dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals.
