New Child Care Apprenticeship Program!

Starting this year, Harford Community College is offering a brand new child care apprenticeship program for those looking to further their career. The 18-month program is designed to be completed while working full-time in licensed Maryland child care facility. You will start as an aide and work under a mentor who provides you with on-the-job training. Raises are built into the schedule as you complete your coursework.

After completing this program you will earn 9 different child care certifications including:

  • 90-hour Preschool

  • 90-hour Infant & Toddler

  • 90-hour School-Age

  • 45-hour Child Care Administration

  • Medication Administration

  • Including All Children and the ADA

  • CPR and First Aid

  • 9-hour Communication Skills

  • Basic Health & Safety

The first cohort of apprentices begins January 2, 2023. Apprentice applications are accepted OCT 1–15 only. Find more details here.
